CCNY, in partnership with CUNY and the New York Power Authority (NYPA) with Sunrise Power Solutions, is currently installing a new electric vehicle (EV) solar charging station and battery installation in the North Academic Center’s (NAC’s) parking lot at 135th and Convent Avenue. Concerning the EV charging station, there will be ten chargers initially installed with another ten to be installed in a later phase of this project. It is anticipated that the work will continue, at minimum, throughout the Fall 24 and Winter 25 semesters.

Aware of the hinderance this can be to the CCNY community, alternative parking spaces have been provided. There is still limited parking at the NAC parking lot with overflow being provided at two locations: (1) at the Spitzer School of Architecture Building and (2) the existing South Campus lot. Due to ongoing construction, reserved parking will not be offered and guests to CCNY will need to find parking off-campus.
